Platform Operations Engineer

How you will help
HealthVerity is seeking a technical leader for the Platform Operations team responsible for developing core components and services used to shape all of HealthVerity’s products and solutions. Working closely with other members of the R&D team, you will be in charge of implementation and design of our internal developer platform to empower our engineers to work most effectively.
What you will do
- Develop scalable and reliable AWS infrastructure solutions using IaC.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Own monitoring solutions to track system performance and proactively address issues.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards.
- Promote best practices and knowledge sharing amongst the R&D team.
- Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and processes.
- Lead efforts in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, including performance bottlenecks, outages, and configuration errors.
- Continuously assess and refine engineering practices to enhance efficiency, reduce deployment times, and improve overall system reliability.

Required skills and experience
- 8+ years of experience with AWS
- 8+ years Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development (CDK + CloudFormation preferred)
- 2+ years of software system design / architecture
- 6+ years of experience developing with Python and/or TypeScript
- Seasoned experience with DevOps practices
Desired skills and experience
- Familiarity with strict security compliance programs such as FedRAMP, HITRUST, etc.
- Ability to lead incident management and disaster recovery events
Base salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $140,000 - 195,000 + annual bonus opportunity.
We prioritize hiring team members from the Philadelphia area whenever possible, as our main office is located in Center City, Philadelphia, where we operate on a hybrid model with in-office work required two days a week. However, for certain roles, we’re also open to hiring from our hub locations, where we have groups of remote workers. Please note that, due to tax and labor regulations, we can only hire from specific states, but remote work is supported in the following key hubs and approved states:
