About the Role
Yieldstreet is seeking a highly motivated Paralegal to join our Legal & Compliance team. This role combines legal expertise with operational execution to support Yieldstreet’s investment platform, regulatory obligations, and corporate initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced fintech environment and can navigate complex cross-functional projects spanning legal, compliance, and business operations.
As Paralegal, you will serve as a key partner to the General Counsel and broader Legal & Compliance team, collaborating across Finance, Investments, Growth & Marketing, Product/Data/Technology, Operations, and Investor Relations to manage business-critical legal functions and corporate initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Transactional & Investment Support
- Lead the NDA process end-to-end and review vendor and services agreements to ensure compliance and alignment with corporate standards
- Support attorneys with transactional work across multiple asset classes
- Assist with drafting and coordinating closing deliverables (e.g., offering documents, resolutions, officer certificates, governance documents) and support workflows throughout deal lifecycles
- Assist with Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and other similar informational review requests
- Provide ongoing support to the Yieldstreet Alternative Income Fund (YAIF) team, including board meeting preparation, attendance, and documentation
- Corporate Initiatives & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage legal diligence and documentation for convertible note and equity capital raises, coordinating stakeholder communication and investor documentation
- Support M&A diligence efforts, including data room management, diligence tracking, and external counsel coordination
- Maintain lending licenses for Yieldstreet subsidiaries and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Assist with regulatory exams and audits (e.g., SEC, FINRA), including document production and responses
- Support routine regulatory filings, employee compliance certifications, registered representative matters, and broker-dealer initiatives
- Cross-Functional & Operational Projects
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and PeopleOps teams to support financial, legal, and operational priorities
- Manage legal billing and outside counsel budgets, including spend tracking, cost forecasting, and coordination with Finance
- Facilitate vendor relationships (including AI partners), from onboarding to engagement and compliance review
- Equity, IP & Corporate Governance
- Manage Yieldstreet’s equity program in Carta, working with PeopleOps and outside counsel to execute board consents, update cap tables, issue grants, manage 409A valuations, and respond to audits and shareholder inquiries
- Draft, coordinate, and maintain corporate resolutions, consents, and board governance documents
- Liaise with outside counsel on trademark portfolio management, filings, and renewals
- Support Finance and PeopleOps during audits and internal reviews by producing documentation and coordinating legal responses
- Investor, Litigation & Ad Hoc Legal Support
- Partner with the Investor Relations team to manage asset transfer requests, document updates, and investor communications
- Respond to subpoenas and other legal process requests
- Provide litigation support, including discovery, internal investigations, and coordination with outside counsel
- Take ownership of ad hoc corporate initiatives and special projects, often in a project management capacity where structure and execution are critical
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3-5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, preferably within financial services, fintech, or investment management
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, securities documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and multitasking ability
- Experience with Salesforce, Carta, Box, and Google Workspace preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and build trust across teams in a dynamic, fast-moving environment

This is a New York-based role. The base salary range for this position is USD 85,000 to 95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for equity compensation as part of the total compensation package.
