Everyday Health Group Pregnancy & Parenting is searching for a passionate, driven, and enterprising Assistant Social Media Editor to create, schedule, and post content on various social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.) for BabyCenter and What to Expect. An ideal candidate is excited to produce content, thrives on adapting to shifting platform algorithms, and is genuinely plugged into online mom culture.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Social Media Content and sits on a collaborative team of social media specialists and video producers, offering hands-on experience working across major social platforms with opportunities for growth and mentorship. This is a hybrid position, requiring the job duties to be performed in our New York City office at least once per week.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the social team to brainstorm content that supports brand awareness, engagement, and audience growth, with a particular focus on Instagram and TikTok.
Track viral trends, celebrity moments, and pregnancy/parenting-related daily news and pitch smart, creative ways for the team to bring that content to life on social.
Package service-forward and app-promoting social content in Canva with help from our design team.
Manage the posting of social content to multiple platforms using Sprout Social and platform-native scheduling tools.
Assist with outreach to external creators and other Ziff Davis teams for content-sharing opportunities, under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Social Media Content.
Foster community by engaging with external social posts and responding to audience feedback in comments and DMs on all key platforms.
Assist our branded content team with social-related questions and client tasks, as needed.
Work with Associate Social Media Producer to support on-camera work and footage collection for social-first videos.
Qualifications
BA/BS or equivalent experience in digital marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field
Ability to work in our New York City office a minimum of 1 day a week
Proven success managing multiple projects at once, working quickly, and meeting deadlines
Excellent social media writing, organization, and communication skills
Hands-on experience creating, publishing, and optimizing social media content for a brand, publication, student organization, or creator project across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, X, and/or YouTube.
Working understanding of platform-specific features and scheduling tools
Experience using Canva and being on camera for social videos a big plus
