We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced Controller that will play a central role in the continued growth of MNTN by providing leadership, analytical support and cross-functional coordination across the organization. This is a critical position that reports to the VP of Accounting and will be a critical partner as the company continues its rapid growth and we continue to build a scalable, world-class accounting organization. You will lead and supervise the accounting team, delegating work and ensuring compliance as to current laws, accounting principles and company policies.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with managing and overseeing the accounting department, including hiring, performance management, optimizing organizational structure and long-term vision setting.
• Partner with the business team to assist in facilitating effective, data -driven organizational goals.
• Oversee the financial close process and regularly examine financial statements to ensure accurate results and timely reporting, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, P&L and balance sheet flux and variance analysis, etc.
• Ensure accounting policies and practices adhere to current laws and regulations, including conform to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), and SEC reporting requirements, including analysis of technical accounting issues.
• Prepare financial statements, including Forms S-1, 10-K & 10-Q, as needed.
• Stay informed of industry changes and current tax/accounting laws.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of financial information by setting up and maintaining internal control systems and embracing proper policies for financial reporting, including assistance with the implementation of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
• Assist with the execution of treasury related needs including review and approval of banking transactions.
• Act as a liaison between external auditors, external tax accountants and third-party valuation consultants.
• Scale and optimize accounting systems and processes, including identifying opportunities to automate or streamline processes and executing planned automation and technological advances.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• CPA Certification, MBA or Master of Accountancy
• 7+ years of Accounting experience, including 3+ at Big 4 accounting firm and SOX experience (SOX implementation experience preferred)
• 2+ Controller experience
• Strong knowledge of key US GAAP accounting topics including, but not limited to: revenue recognition, stock based compensation, internal use software, goodwill and intangibles, fair value measurements, income taxes, and SEC regulations
• Advanced knowledge of professional accounting software, preferably NetSuite, and supplementary systems such as SAP Concur, Equity Edge Online, Carta, Paylocity/Rippling, Workiva, FloQast
