Scopely is looking for a Director of Product, Roadmap to join an unannounced title working with External Development in our Shanghai office on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do
As the Director of Product, Roadmap, on Scopely’s side, you will own product roadmap planning and the feature design layer between high-level product strategy and detailed implementation. You will work closely with the development studio from the draft stage of feature design, helping translate the product vision into clear, commercially viable, and measurable player experiences.
- Own the product roadmap, priorities, and sequencing across development milestones, beta, soft launch, launch, and live operations.
- Work closely with the external development studio at the draft stage of feature design, providing timely and actionable feedback before significant production spend.
- Write and maintain feature briefs for each major feature, covering:
- Product goal and player problem
- Intended player behavior and experience
- Feature and system design
- Success metrics and KPI measurement
- Assist develop and articulate product strategies aligned with business goals and market potential
- Understand the variances in Western and Chinese product development and navigate the challenges
- Set Beta / Soft Launch / Launch KPI’s for the game during development and testing phase
- Collaborate with the internal and external cross-functional team, assist the studio in understanding the gameplay behavior of western users, and translate the product requirements into implementation
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in product strategy and roadmap roles with a proven commercial track record, including experience shipping at least one commercially successful game and the ability to articulate what made it successful.
- A strong game design mindset, supported by either hands-on design experience or close collaboration with game designers.
- The ability to write clear and actionable feature briefs that connect product goals, player behavior, system design, and KPI measurement.
- Experience working across a studio boundary, such as with a co-development studio, external development partner, licensor, or publisher.
- Strong commercial judgment, analytical thinking, and the ability to connect player experience, product quality, and business outcomes.
- Solid communication skillsets with both internal cross-functional team and external partners.
- Proficiency in both verbal and written Chinese and English
- A genuine passion for game development and a high bar for player experience.
Bonus Points
- Experience working on IP-based games with exposure to both development and publishing.
- Experience with open-world free-to-play RPGs or related genres.
- Publisher-side experience working with a co-development studio.
- Experience working on globally distributed teams or products serving both Western and Eastern markets.
