The Document Retrieval Specialist is responsible for contacting healthcare providers to request and obtain billing documents and processes document request cancellations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the nursing staff in the medical claim audit process by contacting healthcare providers to request and obtain billing documents via fax, mail & e-mail for claims processing

  • Organize and prioritize claims daily for follow up of billing documents not received

  • Processes document request cancellations

  • Meets or exceeds the Document Retrieval Performance Standards established by the Document Retrieval department

  • Performs other related responsibilities as assigned

  • Maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to ZELIS standards regarding privacy

Professional Experience:

  • Healthcare/Medical Claims experience a plus
  • Customer Service experience a plus
  • Great verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, & Internet Explorer
  • Strong prioritizing & organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service & telephone skills

Education:

High School Diploma

Associate's degree is a plus
