Key Responsibilities:

Desktop Deployment and Configuration:

  • Install, configure, and deploy desktop computers, laptops, and related peripherals for new employees and existing users.
  • Ensure that desktop systems are set up according to the organization's security policies, software standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor and manage operating system updates and patches for desktop systems.

Technical Support:

  • Provide responsive and effective technical support to end-users, assisting with hardware, software, and connectivity issues related to desktops.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems, resolving them promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate teams when necessary.

Software Management

  • Package applications with the necessary settings for deployment to end-user desktops.
  • Manage the software versions in the environment to ensure the latest stable version is deployed to end-user desktops.
  • Execute the strategy for updating and patching applications on end user desktops to ensure they are up to date with security fixes and feature updates.

Asset Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of desktop hardware and software inventory.
  • Track and manage desktop assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring timely replacements and upgrades.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect desktop systems from threats and unauthorized access.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry regulations.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create and update documentation related to desktop operations, including standard operating procedures and user guides.
  • Generate regular reports on desktop performance, incidents, and service requests.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with IT teams and other stakeholders to plan and execute desktop-related projects.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users, providing training and guidance on using desktop applications and resources.

Continual Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest desktop technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiency-enhancing initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in desktop support and operations.
  • Proficiency in desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and productivity software.
  • Knowledge of desktop hardware, peripherals, and network connectivity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Added advantage someone has Intune knowledge and working experience.
  • Customer-focused with a strong commitment to providing exceptional support.
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience.
