Position Overview

The Product Manager – Payments will own and drive payment product initiatives across Zelis’ healthcare payments platform. This role is responsible for defining product strategy, translating customer and business needs into scalable payment solutions, and partnering cross-functionally with engineering, operations, compliance, and commercial teams to deliver best-in-class payment experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Ownership

  • Own the product roadmap for payment products including EFT, virtual cards, checks, and emerging digital payment solutions.
  • Define product vision, strategy, and success metrics aligned with Zelis business objectives.
  • Balance customer needs, regulatory requirements, and technical feasibility when prioritizing features.

Execution & Delivery

  • Translate high-level strategy into detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, UX, and Architecture teams through the full product lifecycle.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, scalable payment capabilities.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Operations, Compliance, Legal, Sales, and Client Success.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for Zelis payment products across the organization.
  • Support go-to-market efforts, client enablement, and product training.

Customer & Market Insight

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback, payment data, and market trends.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Ensure products meet healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NACHA, etc.).

Performance & Optimization

  • Define KPIs and measure product performance (adoption, cost efficiency, customer satisfaction).
  • Continuously improve payment experiences by reducing friction, payment latency, and cost.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and automation where possible.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in payments, fintech, or healthcare technology.
  • Strong understanding of payment rails (ACH, EFT, virtual cards, checks) and payment ecosystems.
  • Experience working in regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
