Position Overview
Zelis is seeking a Benefits & Wellbeing Manager to join our growing People & Culture team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational excellence, compliance, financial discipline, and associate experience across U.S. and India benefits programs.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role requiring deep expertise in U.S. benefits regulations, strong operational discipline, advanced analytical capability, and the ability to operate effectively in a global environment. The role partners closely with People & Culture, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and external vendors across both India and the United States to ensure programs are compliant, financially disciplined, and aligned with global enterprise standards.
Job Description
Lead India benefits operations, executing localized initiatives under the direction of U.S.-based global leadership and managing related vendor invoicing and reconciliation processes
Oversee operational delivery of benefits and wellbeing programs for India-based associates, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with globally defined strategy
Support U.S. associate benefit programs, including health, retirement, leave, voluntary, and wellbeing offerings, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to enterprise standards
Partner with Global Benefits to support U.S. benefits processes such as renewals, open enrollment execution, vendor integrations, and benefits communications
Serve as a subject matter expert for complex benefit support, providing policy interpretation and guidance in partnership with P&C Enablement, internal stakeholders, and external vendors
Serve as a subject matter expert for complex benefit support, providing empathetic support to associates by resolving inquiries, escalations, and unique cases in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners
Drive engagement and understanding of benefits and wellbeing offerings through targeted communications, education efforts, and seamless coordination between U.S. and India teams
Design and implement AI-enabled workflows and broader automation solutions to modernize U.S. and India benefits, improve scalability, reduce operational risk, and strengthen governance controls
Qualifications
8+ years of progressive experience managing U.S. and India benefits across health, retirement, voluntary, and leave-related programs within a multinational, matrixed environment
Strong working knowledge of U.S. benefits compliance frameworks (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, Section 125) and demonstrated experience ensuring compliance with India statutory and labor benefit requirements
Proven expertise in vendor governance, operational controls, and financial reconciliation, supported by strong stakeholder management and sound judgment with a high level of attention to detail
Advanced Excel skills for complex data analysis, strong PowerPoint capabilities for executive-ready presentations, and demonstrated experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and automation to enhance reporting, forecasting, and operational efficiency
