About The Role
Salsa is seeking a Director of Partner Success to define and lead our post-launch customer (“partner”) success function: setting revenue goals for our partners and providing the strategy, resources, and accountability to achieve them. In this high-impact role, you will own the long-term profitability and success of our partners, ensuring they build thriving payroll businesses with Salsa and generate high adoption and revenue for both sides.
Your mission will be to define what the success curve looks like, create a roadmap for growing each partner, and work directly with partners to set and achieve their business goals. When partners face challenges, you will diagnose the root causes—whether it’s a go-to-market issue, onboarding friction, customer segmentation problem, or another roadblock—and implement solutions to drive consistent revenue growth.
This role is a unique opportunity to shape and scale the function, write the playbook, and apply insights from individual partners across Salsa’s entire customer base. You will lead regular business reviews with senior executives (often the CEO at the partner company), act as the go-to resource for partners navigating their growth, and foster strong relationships with internal teams—Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Experience—to drive partner-centric initiatives.. You will initially operate as a hands-on leader, shaping and refining the Partner Success function, with the potential to build and manage a dedicated team as we expand.

Key Responsibilities
Partner Growth & Success Strategy
- Define what a successful growth trajectory looks like for Salsa’s partners, setting clear milestones and goals.
- Build deep relationships with partners, guiding them through their post-launch phase and ensuring they maximize their revenue potential.
- Analyze partner performance, diagnose challenges, and implement strategic solutions to accelerate growth.
- Identify systemic trends and apply learnings to improve the broader partner success playbook.
- Investigate underperformance—whether due to marketing execution, customer onboarding friction, targeting the wrong customer segment, or other challenges—and develop data-driven solutions.
- Proactively identify risks and roadblocks in partner growth and implement corrective actions before they become major issues.
- Use a combination of qualitative insights and quantitative analysis to guide decision-making and track progress.
- Lead regular business review meetings with partner executives, aligning on strategy, progress, and key objectives.
- Serve as the quarterback for partner success, orchestrating support across Salsa’s product, engineering, marketing, and customer experience teams.
- Act as the primary advisor for partners on go-to-market strategy, customer acquisition, retention, and overall business performance.
- Define and build the Partner Success function, creating structured processes and scalable frameworks.
- Develop playbooks, resources, and best practices that enable partners to thrive and make it easier to scale support across multiple customers.
- Establish key success metrics, track partner performance, and continuously refine the approach to drive growth.
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of relevant experience in high-performance roles involving stakeholder/customer management, executive presence
- 2+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm or similar a plus
- An MBA from a top-tier business school (or equivalent experience) is valued but not strictly required.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex challenges and implement data-driven solutions.
- Technical ability, experience working with APIs, fintech experience, or willingness to learn a plus!
- Exceptional communication and executive presence, capable of leading high-level meetings and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple partner relationships and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience or interest in go-to-market strategy, customer growth, or business development within fintech or SaaS is a strong plus.
- People management experience a strong plus.
