About The Company

Salsa is rebuilding the most important piece of the business stack: paying workers. We believe workers should be paid faster, more easily, and more transparently, so we're building next-generation payroll infrastructure to support the future of work.

Salsa is an embedded fintech company. We believe payroll should be built directly into the tools businesses already love to use, so we help other software platforms launch their own modern payroll products with our APIs and infrastructure. Turning every modern SaaS platform into a cutting-edge payroll provider will finally disrupt the $50bn of revenue that’s going to legacy payroll providers each year—and we think it’s about time.

We’re an accomplished team of payroll technology experts who love to build and have experience working on this problem at the startup stage and at large scale—in both the US and abroad. We’re well-funded, ready to grow, and love to work from offsites in exciting corners of the world, so bring your ambition and your passport.

About The Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to drive the growth and expansion of our platform. This role is critical in shaping our roadmap, identifying high-impact opportunities, and moving fast to unlock new business value.

Unlike Traditional B2B SaaS Companies, Salsa Operates In a B2B2B (platform Of Platforms) Model, Meaning Our Customers Are Not End-businesses But Other Platforms That Serve Businesses. This Brings Unique Challenges

  • Multiple personas and complex Interactions. The product manager must understand and orchestrate how different users (partners, businesses, and workers) interact within our ecosystem.
  • Deep domain complexity. Payroll, compliance, and embedded fintech are intricate; this role requires someone eager to go deep and turn complexity into clear, scalable solutions.
  • Internal Experts, External Impact. Our team is full of payroll and fintech experts. We need somebody with strong backbone and leadership skills to bring teams along, challenge assumptions, and leverage deep internal knowledge to accelerate solutions.
  • Strategic partnerships and business impact. The product manager will define the path forward for expanding Salsa’s services, balancing business impact, product strategy, and complex external partnerships.

This role requires someone who can think big, but execute in small, fast iterations—making informed decisions and learning quickly. You’ll be expanding the boundaries of our product, driving experiments, and optimizing our platform’s ability to scale.

Timezone & Location Requirement

This role must be based in the Eastern Time Zone (ET) to effectively collaborate with our EU-based Product & Engineering teams. While we are remote-friendly, we also offer a hybrid option in NYC for those who prefer in-person collaboration.

What You’ll Do

In your first 6-12 months, you’ll take ownership of high-impact initiatives that expand Salsa’s capabilities and improve efficiency:

  • Drive Integrations with strategic providers
  • Ability to identify and execute new business offerings, such as add-on services (e.g., workers' comp insurance, integrated benefits, etc.)
  • Assess integration models for business impact and technical feasibility, balancing short-term revenue growth with long-term scalability
  • Work closely with engineering, growth, and providers to integrate solutions that serve our platform customers (we call them partners).
  • Build features that serve internal teams and fast-follow with partners
  • Develop internal-facing tools and automation to increase efficiency for Salsa’s growth and onboarding teams.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their challenges, then turn those insights into scalable, external-facing product features.
  • Ensure internal improvements align with Salsa’s embedded platform model, meaning they can be extended to benefit our partners.
  • Productize & scale existing processes
  • Reimage manual or inefficient processes and turn them into productized, automated workflows.
  • Design and implement repeatable, scalable solutions that fit within the embedded nature of the Salsa platform.
  • Work with engineering to ensure the right balance of speed, scalability, and reliability in execution.

How You'll Work

  • Deeply understand our B2B2B model – Learn how Salsa’s platform, partners, and businesses interact and what makes this ecosystem unique.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers – Our engineering team has deep domain expertise; this PM must synthesize and structure that knowledge into actionable product plans rather than dictate requirements in a vacuum.
  • Move fast, iterate, and drive outcomes – This is a high-velocity role that requires quick learning, fast decision-making, and strong execution.
  • Be comfortable with technical concepts – While you don’t need to be an engineer, you should be comfortable with technical language, integrations, and API-driven products so you can work effectively with developers.
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative research to shape product decisions.

What We’re Seeking

We’re seeking a highly strategic, action-oriented, and collaborative Senior PM who can own critical areas of growth and expansion. The ideal candidate is:

  • Experienced in B2B and platform products – You have at least 3 years of experience as a platform product manager. Experience in business-facing products and understand how to drive adoption and growth in a B2B or B2B2B environment.
  • Strategic and business-minded – You can navigate complex partnership decisions, balancing business impact with technical feasibility. Internally, you can work across multiple teams to gather insights and influence to delight customers and drive the business forward.
  • Comfortable with technical concepts – You don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable discussing integrations, APIs, and developer-focused products.
  • Fast-paced & impact-driven – You thrive in high-velocity environments, making trade-offs and delivering impact quickly.
  • Strong facilitator and synthesizer – Since internal domain experts already exist, you don’t need to be the only one who understands the problem—you need to be the one who structures, prioritizes, and drives execution.
  • Exceptional communicator – You influence through clear, compelling narratives and data-driven reasoning.
  • Visionary and tactical – You think big but execute in small, measurable steps.
  • Adaptable and resilient – You thrive in ambiguity, pivot quickly, and solve problems resourcefully.

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, payments, or embedded platforms (platform of platforms).
  • Exposure to payroll, HR tech, or compliance-heavy industries (not required, but a plus).
  • A software engineering background is highly desirable
