Do you have experience working with MasterTax (required)? Salsa is looking for a customer-obsessed and critical-thinking payroll expert to join the Tax Operations team. This team performs all tasks related to the timely filing of tax returns and transmittal of tax deposits for our customers. This involves ensuring receipt of appropriate customer authorizations and enrolling customers with state and federal tax agencies. This team is also responsible for responding to partner inquiries relating to any of the above services.

One of the many unique opportunities you’ll have is designing and scaling the critical processes needed to efficiently transmit tax deposits and tax filings on time. This will include working directly with the engineering team to build our administrative tools.

Responsibilities

• Using MasterTax software to process tax filing and payments
• Transmit tax deposits and tax returns on time and accurately
• Enroll customers with tax agencies
• Communicate enrollment and filing issues to our partners
• Provide expert-level day-to-day support and serve as a subject matter in addressing tax operations processes
• Audit, iterate and create scalable tax operations processes
• Document and maintain tax operations procedures
• Meticulously document the results of all tax filings and tax deposit transmittals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll systems and processes, identifying opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements
• Continuously strive to improve overall customer experience by identifying trends and partnering with product and engineering teams to provide product feedback

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in MasterTax (required)
• 2+ years of payroll experience
