The Role

The NitroAI team is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to take dedicated ownership of our business consulting teams’ analytics infrastructure — an AWS and Kubernetes platform that’s ready for a focused engineering owner. You’ll be the sole dedicated platform engineer on business consulting, with high autonomy in execution and room to shape how the platform evolves. This role is for a hands-on self-starter who thrives on balancing performance, cost, and reliability, with an eye toward compliance from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Own and operate the AWS and Kubernetes platform: reliability, cost, and performance are your responsibility
  • Lead GitOps deployments: sync policies, deployment ordering, and configuration management
  • Own CI/CD end-to-end: design and maintain GitLab pipelines including shell and Docker runner management, automating promotion across local development, stage, and production
  • Own incident response for the platform: diagnose failures, lead recovery, and document post-mortems
  • Establish platform observability for analytics business consulting: monitoring, alerting, and log visibility
  • Maintain security baselines, access controls, and secrets management

Requirements

  • 5+ years hands-on platform engineering experience with a strong focus on automation, tooling, and building distributed, scalable systems. 3+ on AWS and Kubernetes specifically EKS and Kubernetes: production workload management including RBAC and IRSA
  • Expert-level GitLab CI/CD: including shell and Docker runner management, strong Bash scripting for deployment orchestration. GitLab preferred, GitHub Actions acceptable
  • ArgoCD and GitOps: production experience managing workloads across environments
  • Proficiency with Terraform as the primary Infrastructure as Code tool
  • AWS fluency: Lambda, ALB, WAF, CloudFront, Cognito, Secrets Manager, Route53, KMS, ECR, VPC networking and public-facing application hosting
  • Working knowledge of security baselines and compliance-oriented infrastructure design

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing Apache Airflow implementation via MWAA
  • Proficiency with Claude Code
  • Okta or SSO integration for platform authentication
  • Serverless Framework for Lambda and function deployment pipelines
  • Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs) for notebook and job deployment
  • Grafana for platform observability
  • SOC-2 compliance experience in a data engineering context
