As our Senior Email Marketing Associate, you’ll work to establish Pie as the leading commercial insurer among small business owners and independent insurance agents by driving tactics and executing strategy for our fast-growing email channel. On a day-to-day basis, you’ll contribute to Pie’s growth by helping us provide a best-in-class experience for our prospects and customers. You should have a strong understanding of email as a channel and a desire to send high-quality, relevant, and error-free messages that provide value to our audiences and our business. In this cross-functional role, you’ll collaborate both within and outside marketing to help achieve our goals.
How You’ll Do It
Manage Ad Hoc Emails to Partners and Policyholders:
- Maintain content calendar and provide recommendations on schedules and cohorts.
- Manage end-to-end send process in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including content creation, template design and development, list segmentation, campaign setup, QA, and deployment.
- Compile and report on performance of all email sends, recommend optimizations based on the data.
- Work with marketing analysts for more complex, down-funnel metrics reporting.
- Build and manage dynamic content and personalization as needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders as needed.
Write, Edit, and Build Salesforce Email Templates for CS, UW, and Sales Teams:
- Ensure proposed copy adheres to email best practices and voice/style/brand guidelines.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify needs and execute requests.
- Provide QA and copy editing to ensure clear messaging and error-free templates.
Operate in Accordance With Best Practices and Company Goals:
- Monitor IP health and deliverability of email marketing campaigns.
- Ensure communications comply with CAN-SPAM/anti-spam laws.
- Run A/B tests of various aspects of email communications where appropriate; report on results and recommend optimizations based on the data.
- Exercise outstanding judgment and attention to detail in tactical, creative, and technical recommendations and decisions about email campaigns.
The Right Stuff
- High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience executing and managing all end-to-end aspects of email marketing campaigns is required.
- At least 3 years of experience working in an enterprise level marketing automation platform like Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, or Eloqua on a daily basis is required.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce CRM or similar is required.
- Excellent writing, spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Experience reporting to peers and leaders on email campaign performance data.
- Strong technical understanding of customer databases, marketing automation, and QA testing for email required.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS coding for email preferred.
- Experience with a wide range of email types, from nurture campaigns to account-related transactional emails to customer success communications required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of email best practices, deliverability best practices, and CAN-SPAM/anti-spam laws required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and QA skills required.
- Ownership mindset with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and a strong belief that the buck stops with you.
- Ability to thrive when faced with ambiguity and display excellent judgment required.
- Ability to get up to speed fast, execute quickly, influence decision makers, and remain flexible required.
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced, unstructured environment required.
- Ability to organize and prioritize various cross-functional projects and campaigns required.

Location Information
Unless otherwise specified, this role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States* (*territories excluded), and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
