Partnerize is scaling - replacing legacy systems, expanding our technical estate, and evolving our platform for the future. Our databases are at the heart of everything, and we’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take MySQL performance, reliability, and scalability to the next level.
While we’d ideally love you to be based in or around Newcastle - popping into the office once a week or month - we know incredible talent doesn’t always look like that. We’re a remote‑first team and open to conversations about how and where you work best.
What You’ll Do

Lead the design, optimisation, and operation of high-availability MySQL environments.

Optimise query performance, indexing, and schema design to keep our systems fast and efficient.

Manage upgrades, migrations, and replication (multi-master, geo-replication, GTID) with minimal downtime.

Proactively monitor database health and troubleshoot issues before they become critical.

Collaborate with development teams to improve database architecture and support application growth.

Mentor other engineers and set best practices for database operations.
What You Bring

Deep MySQL expertise — replication, query tuning, schema optimisation, upgrades, migrations.

Strong experience with database monitoring and performance tools (e.g. Percona, Grafana, Prometheus).

Solid understanding of Linux environments and networking basics.

Ability to design, implement, and document solutions for high-scale systems.

Great communicator who can partner with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have

PostgreSQL, NoSQL (MongoDB, Druid) experience.

Automation (Python, Bash, Ansible) for database tasks.

Containerised deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
