The Director of Events is a key member of the Overtime Boxing (OTX) Events Team and manages event operations across the organization. Reporting to the VP of Brand Experience & Community Engagement and GM of OTX, this position plays a pivotal role in the articulation of OTX brand identity through experience and service. Touching every pillar of the OTX ecosystem, this role provides holistic client services for both internal and external stakeholders.

Overtime Boxing (OTX) is the platform for the next generation of boxers. OTX spotlights up and coming prospects, contenders, and champions through an innovative event series, live content, and 365 digital-first content across social channels. OTX will deliver boxing fans with the best stories inside and outside of the ring.

What You’ll Do
The Director of Events is responsible for helping to define and execute OTX’s experiential strategy, operational processes and live event experiences. This role will oversee an event portfolio while ensuring the highest standard of presentation, production and creativity are woven into all OTX experiences. This role will:
  • Work cross functionally to concept, produce and deliver OTX experiences across all areas of our business.
  • Execute a full event portfolio to include fight night production, fan engagement, B2B and B2C, fighter programs, brand marketing and community events.
  • Execute an integrated experiential strategy that delivers against business priorities, including building brand equity, thought leadership, content creation, boxing competition and the delivery of proposed experiences for OTX fighters, employees, fans and community.
  • Develop production processes that maximize efficiency and support our organization as it scales.
  • Direct the experiential services team to include internal event staff, contractors and third party vendors.
  • Contribute to the activation of brand partner integration across the full OTX event portfolio, and collaborate with the brand partnerships team to concept integration opportunities.
  • Oversee all aspects of event logistics including scouting, vendor selection and program development.
  • Manage the OTX annual event calendar while overseeing on-site live game production crew, talent and key members of OTX staff.
  • Direct the creation of event materials such as operational manuals, fight night scripts, run of shows, contact lists, shot lists, shipping grids and other documents pertinent for events.
  • Manage third party vendors and agency relationships
  • Lead event ideation processes - including pitches, vision/mood boards, partnership integration, asset sourcing and production.
  • Responsible for budget tracking, implementation, and reconciliation for assigned events.
  • Assist with brainstorming and creating new and innovative ways to enhance in-game. entertainment with the goal of increasing fan excitement and extending the OTX brand.
Who You Are
OTX seeks a Director of Events who is a highly motivated and proactive self-starter that is energized by the live event atmosphere, lives in the details, is solution oriented and blends operational excellence with creativity and a commitment to innovation.
An ideal candidate skill set includes:
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in event production and/or event marketing with touchpoints in boxing and/or combat sports industries
  • Holistic event experience inclusive of direct production and budget oversight and management and forecasting.
  • Proven track record for setting vision and strategy that increases brand awareness and unlocks advocacy.
  • Previous experience managing or working with an experiential/production agency
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of boxing operations and culture
  • Outstanding organizational skill with the ability to follow through and meet deadlines while balancing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Sports league or team experience preferred
  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations as necessary for event set up and strike.
  • Ability to participate in the construction of event assets with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and priorities.
