If you thrive in a challenging work environment, surrounded by incredible team members who will help you grow, MX is the right place for you.

Come build with us and be part of an award-winning company that’s helping create meaningful and lasting change in the financial industry.

The Mission

MX is on a path to become the trusted default for intelligent money experiences, empowering the world to be financially strong.

That requires a product engineering organization that is aligned, accountable, and built for scale.

The SVP, Software Engineering will be the senior leader responsible for managing all product engineering teams, including the core application platform, connectivity and aggregation, enrichment and intelligence, and client and consumer experiences. This leader will unify engineering direction, raise execution standards, and ensure MX delivers scalable, reliable, and differentiated products in close partnership with Product leadership.

This role is critical for taking MX’s engineering execution from fragmented and inconsistent to disciplined, predictable, and impactful.

What Success Looks Like

  • Clear ownership: Each product and platform domain has a directly accountable engineering leader with no overlap or ambiguity.

  • Engineering excellence: Modern engineering practices are standardized across teams, improving velocity, quality, and reliability.

  • Customer confidence: Mobile, API, and data experiences are stable, performant, and trusted by banks, fintechs, and partners.

  • Strong leadership bench: Engineering management layers are credible, effective, and durable, with succession plans in place.

  • Global scale: US and India teams operate as peers, with India owning core domains and contributing to planning, not just execution.

  • Aligned partnership: Product and engineering work in lockstep, with shared accountability for outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead all product engineering teams across platform, connectivity, enrichment, and experiences.

  • Partner with Product leadership to define and deliver roadmaps with clarity, discipline, and measurable outcomes.

  • Set engineering standards for velocity, quality, observability, testing, and release discipline across teams.

  • Build and scale engineering management depth, mentoring and holding leaders accountable for delivery and people outcomes.

  • Rationalize and flatten org structures to eliminate redundant layers and create higher leverage.

  • Drive measurable improvements in reliability, scalability, and developer experience.

  • Ensure US and India engineering teams have clear domain ownership and contribute as first-class participants in planning and execution.

  • Represent engineering with executives, the board, and customers as the accountable leader for software delivery.

  • Partner with peers in Security, Support, Architecture, and Technical Business Operations to ensure an integrated technology strategy.

What You Bring

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles (VP or above).

  • Proven success leading scaled engineering teams (200+ engineers), ideally across multiple product domains and geographies.

  • Deep experience with SaaS and platform/API businesses, ideally in fintech, data, or adjacent regulated industries.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive engineering transformation and maturity, improving predictability, velocity, and quality.

  • Credibility as a technical leader, with the ability to engage deeply on architecture and delivery trade-offs.

  • Track record of building strong, diverse leadership benches and serving as a talent magnet.

  • Strong partnership with Product, able to balance innovation with stability and delivery discipline.

  • Excellent communication and executive presence, able to represent engineering with the board and customers.
