Role summary
MX Technologies is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to own the integrity,
timeliness, and transparency of GAAP financial reporting in a SaaS environment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting, you will lead technical
accounting (ASC 606, 340-40, 718, 842, 350-40), executive-level reporting, audit
readiness, and Workday Financials optimization. You’ll translate complex contracts and transactions into clear, auditable financials and disclosures, and partner closely with FP&A to align actuals with plan and drivers.
Key responsibilities
Executive & Board-Level Reporting
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, KPI dashboards, and audit committee materials
- Develop and present EBITDA bridges, variance analyses, and risk register
- updates
- Support ad hoc reporting requests from executive leadership and board members
- Align actuals with FP&A forecasts and planning assumptions
Technical Accounting & Policy Governance
- Apply and interpret US GAAP standards including ASC 606, ASC 340-40, ASC 718, ASC 842, ASC 740 (review only) and ASC 350-40
- Draft and maintain accounting memos, policies, and impact assessments
- Review contracts and modifications for accounting implications
- Conduct staff training on technical accounting policies and updates
Audit Management & Control Environment
- Own audit readiness and coordinate with external auditors
- Manage PBC lists, walkthroughs, and audit responses
- Maintain and update the Risk Control Matrix (RCM)
- Monitor control performance, segregation of duties (SoD), and remediation of deficiencies
- Support control testing and documentation for compliance
Journal Entry Review & GL Integrity
- Review journal entries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP
- Oversee general ledger integrity and chart of accounts governance
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and suspense account clearing
- Maintain financial system mappings and ensure proper posting rule configurations
- Manage period close activities and documentation
Workday Financials Optimization
- Configure and govern worktags, posting rules, and journal structures
- Align subledger integrations and automate close processes
- Reconcile data flows and ensure reporting consistency across systems
- Monitor data quality and manage change control procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required (active or in process).
- Experience: 5+ years total
- Big Four Senior (2nd–3rd year) or equivalent required with SaaS specialization.
- Technical depth: Advanced command of ASC 606 (SaaS, usage‑based, multi‑element), ASC 340‑40, ASC 842, ASC 718, ASC 350‑40.
- Systems: Workday Financials (GL, Revenue/Projects/AR), revenue subledgers, and BI dashboards; strong Excel; SQL familiarity a plus.
- Compliance: Hands-on SOX/COSO controls (preferred), RCM ownership, external audit management
