The Advocacy Director will drive outreach and engagement with the wider financial services ecosystem - with a focus on regulators and policy makers, ecosystem participants and our clients and colleagues.

MX is a leader in modern connectivity of financial data, moving the industry to safer and more reliable ways to get data. The Advocacy Director will assist in engagements with key stakeholders at federal and state level - enhance the MX reputation, and ensure our voice is being amplified with key stakeholders. As well as bringing the requirements of the policy world to MX.

Job Duties

  • Build strong relationships in order to advocate for MX, our customers, and their customers

  • Prospect and qualify decision makers at state and federal level to create opportunities for engagement and education.

  • Communicate with senior public servants and C level executives at industry events

  • Research and maintain knowledge of regulatory landscape, congressional priorities and clients’ business drivers and strategies, competitive position in the marketplace, and industry trends

  • Manage the process to ensure delivery against performance metrics of advocacy function

  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry/professional individuals and organizations

  • Become a subject matter expert in modern connectivity and open finance

  • You will be expected to provide thought leadership in our space

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 8+ years of experience in policy, consumer advocacy and/or data privacy with successful demonstrated performance against deliverables for multiple years

  • Ability to speak and understand the vernacular during client/technology and policy/regulatory meetings

  • You will need to understand MX values and products

  • Must be a great planner: have a plan, work the plan, re-evaluate the plan on an ongoing basis as necessary

  • Strong knowledge of the financial services industry from a business and policy perspective

We utilize a hybrid work arrangement style, which may require both local and remote team members to be in the office when necessary, to kick off projects, hold cross team strategy meetings, or complete key deliverables. Remote team members will travel into the office four times per year, and MX covers travel expenses associated with this requirement.
