Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Workday HCM Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of driving efficiency and innovation in our HR processes. Reporting to the Sr Workday HCM Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our People department, serving as a pivotal link between technology and human resources. Your primary responsibility will be to champion Workday HCM functions, ensuring optimal system performance and user experience. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of our organization by leveraging your expertise to enhance business effectiveness and employee satisfaction.

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and optimize Workday HCM for future needs.

  • Act as a consultant and system expert, providing solutions to internal stakeholders on system challenges and process issues.

  • Analyze Workday HCM reports, processes, applications, integrations, and user interfaces to drive continuous improvement.

  • Ensure data integrity across Workday and other related systems and processes.

  • Partner with functional leads to identify improvement opportunities, prioritize projects, and implement necessary changes.

  • Develop, implement, and refine HCM business processes to meet evolving business needs.

  • Own change management for various Workday domains, including Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Performance Management, Succession Planning, and Onboarding.

  • Coordinate changes with other functional area Workday engineers using established touchpoints.

  • Provide support for other Workday engineers on larger or high-priority projects and tasks.

  • Serve as a Named Support Contact with Workday, escalating issues as needed.

  • Ensure successful testing and deployment of Workday new releases in production environments.

  • Lead security audits for permissioning within Workday.

  • Develop Workday HCM user personas and ensure stakeholder representation.

  • Drive up user experience satisfaction by creating enthusiastic Workday advocates.

  • Collaborate with People Development to design and deliver outstanding Workday training modules.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Workday HCM Engineer or similar role.

  • In-depth understanding of Workday HCM modules, functionalities, and best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Advanced Job Requirement (preferred but not required)

  • Workday Pro/Partner certifications and/or related Human Resources certifications.

  • Innate aptitude for all things Workday.

  • 3+ years of successful experience implementing and building in Workday HCM.

  • Solid understanding of HR, Benefits & Recruiting business dynamics.

  • Workday Payroll and Finance experience as an added bonus.

  • Thirst for perfection through iterative improvement.

  • Formal project work experience.

  • Strong communication skills and team collaborative ability.

  • Innovating and rapidly iterating on process and system improvements.

  • Demonstrated exuberance for life with a 'can-do' attitude.

  • Commitment to working hard and smart until the work is done.

  • Utilization of objectivity in discourse when pushing to reach challenging team and organizational goals.

  • Proficiency in gathering requirements from stakeholders and building consensus before implementing change.
