Our mission is to provide timely and accurate payment of Sales Compensation to our global sales team. You will be focused on ensuring accuracy in your work while delivering on your deadlines. You will be comfortable working with multiple challenging deliverables. You will have experience working with Sales teams & Finance providing excellent analytics, knowing that it is important to meet your deadlines with a passion to seek solutions proactively. The Sales Commissions Analyst is responsible for the accurate calculation, analysis, accrual, and payment of sales commissions in accordance with company compensation plans and ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements. This role partners closely with Sales Operations, Finance, Accounting, Payroll, HR, and Audit to ensure commissions are calculated accurately, accrued appropriately, and compliant with internal policies and external audit standards.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
5+ years of experience in sales commissions, finance, or sales operations
Strong understanding of commission structures and incentive compensation
Experience preparing accruals and supporting month-end close
Working knowledge of ASC 606 as it relates to sales commissions
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data validation)
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
Preferred
Experience with commission systems (SAP Commissions)
SaaS or subscription-based business experience
Key Responsibilities
Sales Commissions Administration
Calculate and validate monthly and quarterly sales commission payouts in accordance with approved compensation plans
Maintain commission plans, quotas, rates, and crediting rules in the commissions system
Resolve commission inquiries and disputes in a timely and professional manner
Ensure accurate sales crediting and alignment with CRM (e.g., Salesforce)
Accruals & Financial Reporting
Prepare and book monthly sales commission accruals
Reconcile commission expense, accruals, and payouts
Partner with Accounting to support close activities and variance analysis
ASC 606 Compliance & Audit Support
Ensure commissions are treated in accordance with ASC 606 (capitalization, amortization, and expense recognition)
Maintain documentation supporting commission capitalization policies
Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, reconciliations, and control evidence
Assist with SOX and internal control compliance related to commissions
Analytics & Insights
Develop commission and performance analytics to support Sales and Finance leadership
Identify data issues, process gaps, and opportunities for automation or improvement
Support ad hoc analysis related to plan design and sales performance
Systems & Process Improvement
Administer and optimize commission tools (SAP Commissions)
Document commission processes and controls
Participate in compensation plan rollouts and system testing
