Payroll Specialist (International Payroll)
About the Team
At Gorgias, our People Operations team is committed to delivering an exceptional employee experience by ensuring seamless processes and global compliance. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role within the People Ops. Team, which is part of our People organization. You will also collaborate closely with the Finance & Accounting Team, as well as with various stakeholders across the organization, whose work directly impacts payroll processes.
Our team is dedicated to operational excellence and is currently focused on key initiatives such as implementing new tools to automate processes and optimizing the payroll experience in a global context.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Coordinating with internal stakeholders to collect accurate information for monthly and bi-weekly payrolls, ensuring all relevant data is prepared for processing.
Collaborating with external vendors responsible for payroll processing, ensuring all calculations, such as overtime, bonuses, commissions, and PTO, are accurate and processed correctly.
Verifying processed payroll to meet accuracy standards and resolving any discrepancies.
Supporting the preparation of reports and assisting with ad-hoc requests within the People Operations team.
Working closely with the Finance & Accounting teams to meet their requirements and ensure the necessary data flow for reconciliation and financial reporting.
Managing processes related to Direct employees, Contractors, Freelancers and Employees of Records, ensuring compliance and accuracy in their payroll treatment.
Addressing and efficiently responding to employee inquiries related to their payments, providing assistance and timely solutions.
Tracking vendor deliverables on payroll SLAs via defined payroll metrics.
Being risk-aware and helping to identify, report, mitigate, and track risks in the payroll delivery process.
Supporting the Payroll team lead by providing necessary data and clarifications to questions raised during internal and external audits.
Driving process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in payroll operations through automation.
Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, taking ownership and setting directions with minimal guidance.
Who You Are?
Key Requirements:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience coordinating international payrolls with external vendors.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive data.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of payroll regulations in the countries where we operate.
Fluency in English is a must.
Proficiency in Excel and Google Spreadsheets, including knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, and creating macros (preferred).
Nice to Have:
Professional certifications related to payroll management or relevant courses.
Familiarity with different payroll tools and integrated accounting systems.
