About the Team
The Strategic Finance team is responsible for enterprise level planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and capital allocation. This is a highly strategic & visible team that partners closely with our C-Suite and cross-functional business leaders to develop key Strategic Finance Team possess excellent analytical, critical reasoning, interpersonal, communication, influencing and leadership skills and are passionate about both problem solving as well as building high quality repeatable processes that scale with our rapid growth. Our role extends beyond analyzing and reporting; we take pride in helping to design and implement solutions to the different challenges that can arise in our high growth environment.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of GTM Finance to join our leadership team at Gorgias. This role is crucial in guiding our financial strategy and enhancing our financial planning and analysis (FP&A) capabilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a high-growth tech startup environment, demonstrating a proven ability to lead GTM functions and drive strategic financial initiatives. This position reports directly to the CFO and will work closely with executive leadership to inform decision-making and strategic planning. Here’s what you will do:
Executive Business Partnering: This role will be the lead partner to our CRO and CMO. You will partner with them to drive better business decisions and visibility on financial outcomes. You will be expected to drive insights on how to optimize the business and identify opportunities to accelerate growth
Storytelling: Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and insightful financial analyses and forecasts, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities relating to the company's go-to-market strategy to stakeholders, executives, and the Board
Full Planning Cycle Ownership: Own end-to-end planning (annual, quarterly re-forecasts, and weekly updates) for the entire organization, inclusive of revenue, bookings, ARR, and opex metrics.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance accuracy, and improve forecasting and reporting scalability.
Data Steward: Create a data-based performance culture by being the steward of some of Gorgias’s most critical and visible business metrics: Bookings, Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Churn, Gross and Net Retention, Pipeline, GTM productivity, with insight into what operational changes we need to make
Full Funnel Ownership: Develop a deep understanding of Gorgias’s Sales funnel and build financial models to evaluate sales and marketing initiatives, ROI on various channels, and customer lifetime value (and payback).
Model Ownership: Your team owns the underlying Top Line Model for the entire company with specific forecasting models for each of our products (Helpdesk, Automate, Marketing). Own the evolution and integrity of all the data and raise the bar on forecasting accuracy. You will Collaborate with other partners in Sales, Marketing, Product partners to maintain and improve revenue forecast models, capturing all variables that can potentially impact revenue such as usage, expansion, pricing, churn, etc.
Opex Management: Drive headcount, quota capacity, cost of sales analysis, and expense planning for Sales, Post-Sales, and marketing teams.
Leadership: Build and lead a world-class team and push the boundaries to produce deeper operational insights.
Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the finance organization and across all stakeholders in GTM (RevOps, Data Analytics, Accounting, etc).
Who You Are
8+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Investment Banking or PE with at least 4 years of leading a GTM Finance team. High-growth SaaS experience preferred
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performance finance teams
Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills with proficiency in distilling complex business information into consumable and actionable takeaways
Expert in financial modelling with a strong working knowledge of GAAP. Extensive experience architecting integrated models from scratch, in Excel or in other planning applications
Systems thinker. Experience in designing and implementing new systems and tools
Demonstrated project management skills with experience improving and streamlining processes and developing solutions to operational inefficiencies
Intellectually curious with problem-solving orientation. Strong analytical capabilities and business acumen with ability to apply rigorous logic and sound methods to solve multi-faceted problems. Not satisfied with easy or convenient answers
Willingness to play “up and down the stack,” diving into the details as well as managing exec-level communications
