The Role: Flutterwave is looking for a Manager, Business and Partnership Development, Senegal. This role will be a part of our Sales organization and will be responsible for driving business development, nurturing and building key strategic partnerships and ultimately powering revenue growth.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales quotas by engaging high quality prospects to close deals and get merchants to transact on the Flutterwave infrastructure
- Make contact with potential new customers using a variety of channels - phone, email, social, chat - to ensure a healthy pipeline at all time
- Record and maintain a robust, enterprise focused pipeline in our CRM tool
- Lead on the sales cycle right from lead generation to go-live and transactions
- Be an expert on all Flutterwave use cases and use that knowledge to appropriately solve pain points of customers / merchants using Flutterwave products / offerings
- Effectively manage relationships with key merchants (enterprise businesses) to ensure consistent business / volume growth. Signing the dotted line is not where the role ends, ensuring the full potential of the customer / merchant is a big part of the equation
- Ensure customer / merchant complaints are investigated and promptly resolved (at the root cause) across all channels
- Review sales performance against set budgets on a periodic basis, and recommend and implement action plans for improvement
- Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly sales reports for Leadership review
- Attend relevant workshops, trade shows and seminars to keep up-to-date with changes in the industry, and keep Flutterwave top of mind in circles that matter
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior resources in the team
- Develop and maintain key partnerships and collaborations in line with Flutterwave’s overall business strategy for the country / region
- Actively negotiate cost/fees with partners to maintain market competitiveness
- Monitor and ensure optimal performance of partner rails
- Develop a trackable pipeline of future partnership opportunities in line with Flutterwave’s growth and expansion strategy, and deliver on these new relationships per set timelines
- Be the voice of the customer to ensure products are fit for the market and drive relevant feedback and changes with cross-functional teams (product, engineering etc.) on changes or enhancements required to better serve the market
Required competency and skillset to be a waver:
- At least 6-10 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on Sales and payments
- Deep understanding of local payment methods and the payments landscape in the country / region
- A proven track-record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Experience with CRM and other sales / business development tools
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills. A people’s person who truly enjoys building and nurturing relationships be it with partners or with customers and merchants
- Strong leadership capability and exceptional people management skills
- Ability to think on your feet, handle ambiguous situations with ease, coming on the other side with a plan of action
- Data driven decision maker. Ability to run complex analysis, create compelling reports, storyboards and presentations to drive assigned goals and targets
