XR Extreme Reach is currently looking for a Tax Manager to join our global finance team. This position will be based in Budapest reporting to our VP, Global Tax. This role is responsible for all aspects of corporate income tax and indirect tax compliance across the EMEA region. This includes forecasting the effective tax rate (ETR), preparation and review of tax provisions and income tax returns and overseeing VAT/GST compliance. The role also involves tax research and planning, audit defense, mergers and acquisitions, and so much more. The Tax Manager will work closely with finance teams, external advisors, and tax authorities to maintain compliance, optimize processes, and support business initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of corporate income tax and indirect tax compliance for the EMEA region, including preparing and/or reviewing tax returns, income tax provisions, VAT/GST filings, and ensuring timely tax payments.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions under US GAAP and local GAAP/IFRS, collaborating with EMEA, APAC, and US financial reporting teams.
  • Oversee and review corporate income tax return compliance, working with external advisors to ensure accurate calculations, book-to-tax adjustments, and timely filings while reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness before submission to tax authorities.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of VAT/GST returns across the EMEA region and UK employment tax returns.
  • Monitor and implement tax law and rate changes, assessing their impact on the business and ensuring compliance
  • Support transfer pricing compliance, including preparing local files, calculating transfer pricing adjustments, ensuring proper documentation of intercompany transactions, and meeting other reporting requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, drive process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Review tax disclosures in statutory accounts and ensure alignment with financial reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and review quarterly installment payment calculations for EMEA entities
  • Identify and mitigate tax risk and support day-to-day tax related matters
  • Manage tax audits and inquiries across the EMEA region, acting as the primary contact for tax authorities, preparing responses and negotiating settlements while ensuring proper documentation and audit readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tax compliance and reporting processes through automation, technology, and collaboration with finance teams and external tax advisors
