The Role
Crafty is seeking a Summer People Team Intern to support daily operations within the Chicago office and People team initiatives. This internship is ideal for a recent graduate or college student who is passionate about people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to apply their studies in human resources, organizational psychology, business, or a related field to real-world scenarios.
The intern will report to the Director of Talent and collaborate closely with members of the People team and cross-functional partners to drive projects that enhance the employee experience, improve hiring processes, and strengthen talent development programs.
This is a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure to multiple areas of the People function and leave a real impact on a growing company—all in one summer.

Ideal Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree or career in Business, HR, People Operations, or a related field
- Proficiency with tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel and openness to learning new tools

Role Goals
- Support Office Operations
- Support our in-office food and beverage program by ensuring common areas and meeting rooms are well-stocked with necessary supplies and snacks; identify and communicate replenishment needs to People Operations
- Coordinate with building management for maintenance or service orders
- Office Access and Security Support: Maintain and audit access badge records to ensure up-to-date and accurate office security permissions
- Oversee kitchen cleanliness and inventory levels throughout the week
- Support Talent Acquisition
- Review and screen resumes to identify top candidate profiles for level I-III roles
- Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications
- Support candidate pipeline tracking and organization across multiple roles
- Support People Operations
- Mail and Shipping Coordination: Oversee daily mail operations, including receiving, sorting, scanning incoming mail, and managing outgoing shipments and deliveries
- HRIS Data Audit: Work in partnership with multiple teams to audit employee data within our HRIS
- Contribute to Projects & Events
- Develop and manage an event planning framework for the company’s Founder’s Day, including budgeting, attendee tracking, and logistics
- Lead the RFP process to identify a mobile-friendly Learning Management System (LMS) for future talent development initiatives
What we offer:
Our compensation amount for this role is $20 per hour. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including cost of living based on location, candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
