Job Summary
The Financial Strategy Team is responsible for working with its partners to help educate and drive profitable decisions for the business as well as providing monthly forecasts and annual budgets. The Financial Strategy Analyst II analyzes, models, and forecasts private label and co-brand credit card portfolio performance to support internal partners and leadership, in addition to developing client contract deal structures, promotional pricing, file performance tracking, file automation and maintenance, and ad hoc projects as needed. They do this through a disciplined data-driven approach and a thorough understanding of portfolio profitability while being able to present analyses to leadership.
Essential Job Functions
Review and evaluate: Analyzes and forecasts elements of financial performance based on information obtained with little assistance via SQL, Essbase, MicroStrategy, etc., and publishes reporting/findings as needed. Analyzes client performance and compares actual performance to expected performance. Completes ad hoc assignments as needed, including interdepartmental collaboration, creating materials and presenting findings. Understands basic drivers of portfolio profitability and can apply this knowledge to various financial forecasts and models. Utilizes knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work.
Create and design: Helps bring opportunities to the process based on portfolio trends. Actively contributes to internal client discussions and supports brand discussions as needed. Understands objectives and success metrics, as well as potential areas for concern. Responsible for researching competitor information. Able to maintain organization in order to multitask and prioritize projects while adhering to deadlines. Examples of duties may be, but are not limited to, creating Client Performance Reports, reviewing client P&Ls, monthly forecasting and budgeting, reviewing and analyzing marketing campaigns, reviewing client performance and driving recommendations to improve profitability, etc. Works with some supervision to help identify and solve problems.
Reporting: Creates and updates ad hoc reporting based on business needs. Maintains key reports and models used to analyze and forecast credit portfolios. Develops and provides key financial reporting for the team and internal partners with some assistance. Strongly attentive to detail and quality of information. Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work. Independently leverages data sources such as Essbase, SQL, and Microstrategy to build and maintain reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree or equivalent business experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Analytics, or similar
Two or more years using software such as advanced functions in Excel, SQL, etc. to complete analysis and reporting.
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree Finance, Accounting, Economics, Analytics, or similar
Two to four years in Financial Services field, ideally private label and/or bankcard credit

Typical Starting Range:
$61,900.00 - $112,100.00Full Salary Range for position:
California: $71,200.00 - $140,200.00Colorado: $61,900.00 - $117,800.00New York: $68,100.00 - $140,200.00Washington: $65,000.00 - $129,000.00The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time (“PSST”) upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.
Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
