Job Summary

The Senior Business Development Executive demonstrates collaborative team selling skills and provides direction for internal support teams. Responsible for building and managing products and developing prospect pipeline for target market. Works with Client Partnership, Retail subject matter experts, Marketing, Product/Capabilities, Legal, Implementation and Finance and Operational/IT teams to develop internal presentations to New Business Review Committee as well as proposals and customer presentations.

Essential Job Functions

Sales Expertise: Introduces and sells business and technology solutions through direct contact with customers at the CXO – level. Generates sales leads; contacts new prospects; builds new customer base in designated market segments; Responsible for guiding contract development, contract negotiation and closing. Demonstrates expertise and a working knowledge of Co-brand and Affinity based credit products, inclusive of a deep understanding on core P&L levers and overall development. Provides market feedback for internal new product/service development. Makes effective and business focused presentations both internally and externally. Creates qualified sales plans and forecasts sales volumes and time frames.

Relationship Management: Works effectively with management team to present business issues and proposed alternatives. Will use a consultative sales approach for closing new business. Participate as team sale member – sometimes the lead, other times sharing the lead responsibility or potentially the subordinate role. Negotiates, facilitates, and presents information in an articulate, professional, and digestible manner.

Distinction: Will lead the effort of selling Buy Now Pay later product to existing and new Bread Financial brand partners, Will work with the M&A team as the Business Development lead on Issuer to Issuer transactions and Will generally lead Tier A Business Development transactions

Reports to: VP Business Development

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements: Normal office environment. Required to work from the office at least 5 days each month even if hired into a work-at-home or hybrid role; in-office work requirement can be accomplished by working from a Bread Financial office, a client location if you are in a client-facing role, or other necessary business-related travel. Travel required – up to 50%.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.

This position will be eligible to participate in a Sales Commission Plan.

Ten years or more years work experience in Sales or Marketing with at least five years in Retail credit or corporate sales

Preferred Experience:

Master’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field

Five years or more years experience in selling services to executive level clients; strongly prefer experience with PLCC and CoBrand products. Demonstrated prior sales effectiveness, closing and delivering $300 million in incremental A/R annually; have a proven track record of above quota results; and ability to effectively manage many prospects in all stages of long sales cycles. Has Strategic and consultative selling skills.

Typical Starting Range:

$180,100.00 - $386,000.00

Full Salary Range for position:

California: $207,200.00 - $482,400.00

Colorado: $180,100.00 - $405,300.00

New York: $198,100.00 - $482,400.00

Washington: $189,100.00 - $444,000.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.

Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
