We are looking for a proactive and highly skilled IT Specialist who excels as a communicator and anticipates problems before they occur. As the IT point lead for employee onboarding and offboarding processes, you will drive continuous process improvement using automation while ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Vanta, JumpCloud, and IT network management is crucial for providing seamless support. In this self-managed role, we value individuals who are eager to jump in and assist and demonstrate a highly responsive approach to IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as IT point lead for employee onboarding and offboarding IT processes. Adopt continuous process improvement using Automation, while staying compliant and cost-effective. Provide proactive support in the onboarding of new hires, including placing orders for new equipment and the follow-on setup of those devices and other related administrative duties
  • Hands-on support and management of Google Workspace, Vanta and JumpCloud platforms.
  • Provide proactive support, troubleshoot, monitor, configure Router, Modem Switch, Firewall, WAP for basic corporate network and internet SLAs
  • Ensure IT compliance policies are met or exceeded. Alert any exceptions and provide compliance reports from Vanta, which is our IT Policy Management system.
  • Responsible for coordinating with users, Managed Services Provider (MSP) to maintain an up-to-date IT Asset Inventory Ledger, which includes but not limited to around 200 Macbook laptops on the field and inventory.
  • Generate reports for software Licensing demand, while maintaining a frugally smart control on used vs unused licenses, by performing periodic audits and other proactive checks.
  • Self-managed and driven role with minimum supervision, driven by quarterly goals and objectives for the IT department. Trusted partner available in-person at the San Diego office for IT Helpdesk Operations management.
  • Leverage JIRA IT ticketing systems to track, manage and report all IT Operations demand and forecast.
  • Manage documentation of IT how-to tasks, processes, procedures, knowledge base, etc
  • Perform various ad-hoc administrative duties, tasks or projects, as needed, including such things as: Software or tool research (and subsequent configuration and implementation)
  • Advise users to correct IT resources (if the request falls outside the scope of this role, for example)

Qualifications

  • Overall 2-5 years of relevant IT Helpdesk/Operations experience. This is not a remote position.
  • Hands-on experience at Macbook (multi-model) maintenance including troubleshooting, patch management, etc. Related Certification desired.
  • Has worked in MDF environment to manage WAN/LAN with firewall - preferably Ubiquity/ Aruba equipment. This job does not need advanced networking knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience integrating and supporting Google Workspace and JumpCloud, providing better visibility into device activity and real time monitoring for SOC2 compliance.Certification highly desired in the respective areas, but not required with the relevant experience.
  • Experience using or supporting Vanta for IT policy management. Integration experience between Vanta and other applications including JumpCloud, AWS, HRIS is a huge plus.
  • Strong verbal/written communication with capability to multitask on varying priorities, with minimum supervision.
  • Have a patient and empathetic perspective on day-today Helpdesk support with end-users
  • Proficient at using collaborative tools including Slack, Zoom, Confluence, JIRA
