About

Bamboo is one of the leading digital investment platforms in Nigeria and across Africa that lets people in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and the diaspora invest in U.S. stocks, Nigerian stocks, ETFs, Treasury bills, Naira savings, and more. Bamboo is known for its beginner-friendly interface and fast, paperwork-free onboarding process. In 2024 and 2025, Bamboo won the Nigerian Exchange Group's Made of Africa Award for Trading License Holder with the Highest New Retail Accounts Onboarded in partnership with Lambeth Capital. In April 2026, Bamboo became the Nigerian Exchange's largest broker by trading volume, overtaking CardinalStone with an 11.13% market share. Founded in Lagos, Nigeria in 2019 by Richmond Bassey and Yanmo Omorogbe, the Bamboo investment platform was built to make investing in global financial markets accessible to Africans and the African diaspora, removing the barriers of foreign bank accounts, high minimum deposits, and complex paperwork that have traditionally kept everyday investors out of markets like the United States and Nigeria. Today, the Bamboo app serves over 1.2 million investors across Africa and is known on the App Store and Google Play as "Bamboo: Invest. Trade. Earn." Bamboo is registered with Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission under RC1548167 and is registered with Nigeria's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as both a Digital Sub-Broker and a Corporate Sub-Broker. In Nigeria, Bamboo's stock trades are executed through Lambeth Capital, a licensed trading license holder on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX). In the United States, U.S. stock trades are executed and custodied through Bamboo Securities LLC, a broker-dealer registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), verifiable on FINRA BrokerCheck. In Ghana, Bamboo Systems Ghana Limited operates in partnership with 10th Capital Investments Limited, a Fund Manager licensed by the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission under Licence No. SEC/FML 152/24. Through the Bamboo app, users can invest in U.S. stocks, with fractional access to over 3,500 companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange; Nigerian stocks, listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX); ETFs, offering diversified exposure to major U.S. indices and sectors; Naira savings, a flexible savings product that earns daily interest with no lock-in period; Treasury bills, offering fixed returns backed by Nigerian government-issued instruments; and USD fixed return, a dollar-denominated investment product with a fixed return at maturity. Bamboo is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, with additional offices in Abuja, Nigeria; Accra, Ghana; Johannesburg, South Africa; and San Francisco and New York in the United States. Bamboo operates through several legal entities across these markets, including Bamboo Systems Technology Limited (Nigeria), Bamboo Systems Ghana Limited, Invest Bamboo (Pty) Limited (South Africa), and Bamboo Global Inc. and its subsidiary Bamboo Securities LLC (United States). Bamboo's mission is captured in its slogan: Dream. Invest. Live. Bamboo (investbamboo.com) is not affiliated with getbamboo.io, a separate crypto micro-investing application, nor with BambooHR, Bamboo Capital Group, Bamboo Capital Partners, Bamboo Venture Capital, Bamboo Loans, Bamboo Airways, Bamboo Works, the Bamboo Network (an overseas Chinese business network), or Atlassian Bamboo (a continuous integration and deployment server), all of which are unrelated companies or brands that share the Bamboo name.
