Interim Chief of Staff — Executive Office (4-Month Assignment)

The Interim Chief of Staff plays a central role in maintaining organizational alignment, strategic continuity, and disciplined execution during the Chief of Staff’s maternity leave. As a trusted advisor to the CEO and strategic partner to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), this role ensures clarity, alignment, and focus at the center of the organization.
Through strategic oversight, governance excellence, and cross-functional coordination, the Interim Chief of Staff safeguards operating rigor and enables the company to deliver on its highest priorities.
This assignment requires executive maturity, strong analytical capability, and the ability to operate with autonomy, discretion, and sound judgment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Strategy Operations - Ensure continuity and discipline in the company’s strategy-to-execution framework.
- Translate the Creative Director’s vision into seasonal concepts, product narratives, aesthetics, and key looks.
- Ensure alignment, creative coherence, and elevated execution across Ready-to-Wear and Accessories.
- Define and evolve silhouettes, color palettes, styling direction, and the overall ANINE BING creative DNA, ensuring a balance of modernity, timelessness, and market relevance.
- Reassess and recalibrate strategic priorities based on macroeconomic, operational, or organizational considerations. (Optional)
- Executive Communications & Governance - Strengthen executive decision-making, governance, and communication.
- Manage the executive operating cadence, including agenda design, briefing materials, pre-reads, and decision logs.
- Support the CEO by structuring decision-making forums, synthesizing insights, and ensuring outcomes are operationalized.
- Develop and refine strategic communications for Board engagements, investor inquiries, and internal executive messaging.
- Partner with the Chief People Officer to cascade strategic objectives and OKRs across the organization.
- Ensure governance disciplines are upheld across the executive team, with clear accountability and structured follow-through.
- Collaborate with Corporate Communications on complex or high-impact messaging. (Optional)
- Cross-Functional Strategic Projects - Provide leadership, structure and operational rigor enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to the orchestration of critical cross-functional programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and facilitating collaboration across functions.
- Support project leads in structuring scopes, milestones, KPIs, and risk mitigation plans, ensuring initiatives progress with discipline and clarity.
- Identify interdependencies across departments and proactively address potential bottlenecks or misalignments.
- Maintain visibility over the company’s portfolio of strategic initiatives to ensure coherent prioritization and resource allocation at the executive level.
- Serve as a connector between functions, enabling informed decision-making, timely escalation, and consistent communication across teams.
- Lead select high-impact initiatives requiring executive oversight or enhanced coordination, ensuring delivery against scope, timeline, and performance expectations. (Optional - depending on experience)
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in strategy, corporate operations, PMO leadership, or Chief of Staff–type roles.
- Ability to partner effectively with executive leaders and support high-level decision-making.
- Strong analytical skills, structured thinking, and operational rigor.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Executive presence, discretion, and the ability to navigate sensitive or ambiguous situations.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth, or matrixed environments is preferred.
