ANINE BING is seeking a Technical Designer specializing in shoes to join the team.
This Technical Designer will oversee the technical product development process for shoes from initial design to final execution, ensuring construction, fit, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver, relationship builder, and team player passionate about craftsmanship and technical innovation. They thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and with external vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide factories with detailed technical specifications for shoes during development stages.
- Lead construction review sessions, analyze technical issues, and communicate accurate corrections to vendors.
- Gather and organize post-review notes, collaborating with the Director of Technical Design to prioritize workload.
- Collaborate with factories to ensure accuracy in pattern adjustments and provide technical guidance using Illustrator/Photoshop.
- Create and update technical blocks and guides in WFX, following ANINE BING’s catalog standards and assigning Points of Measure (P.O.M.) as needed.
- Maintain and update the Shoes Technical Guide, ensuring alignment with ANINE BING standards.
- Develop and release graded shoe specs at the pre-production approval stage, establishing grade rules for new categories as required.
- Coordinate technical workflows, including managing Work-In-Progress (W.I.P.) reports and distributing review schedules.
- Support vendor evaluations and conduct technical assessments of materials, components, and constructions for shoes.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years of technical design experience specializing in shoes.
- Expertise in shoe construction, materials, and functional design.
- Ability to identify technical issues in construction and propose effective solutions.
- Strong understanding of leather, textiles, and alternative materials used in shoe production.
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with WFX or similar PLM systems is a plus.
